COMMON MISTAKE IN THE USE OF TENSES.......

Common mistake in the use of continuous tenses
·         WRONG: It is raining for three days.
·         RIGHT: It has been raining for three days.
·         WRONG: My mom is sleeping for two hours now.
·         RIGHT: My mom has been sleeping for two hours now.

In these statements we are using the present continuous instead of the present perfect continuous. We use the present perfect continuous tense to tell about an action which started in the past, and form that time it is still continuing.

Common mistake in the use of present perfect tenses
·         WRONG: I have given him yesterday.
·         RIGHT: I gave him yesterday.
·         WRONG: He has returned from America last week.
·         RIGHT: He returned from America last week.

In these statements we are using the present perfect tense instead of the simple past tense. The present perfect is a present tense. It can not be utilize with adverbs of past tense.
Common mistake in the use of future tense
·         WRONG: See that you will not do any damage.
·         RIGHT: See that you do not do any damage.

In this statement, it is mistake to use the future tense in the subordinate clause when the verb is in the main clause and in the imperative mood.
Common mistake in the use of future tense

·         WRONG:  I will send  him when the dinner will be ready.
·         RIGHT: I will send  him when the dinner is ready.
·         WRONG: He will drink if you will ask him.
·         RIGHT: He will drink if you ask him

RIGHT:  We will meet with you as soon as you come.
WRONG: We will meet with you  as soon as you'll come.

  1.  In this statement, When the verb is main clause and  is in the future tense, the verb in the subordinate clause should be in the present and not in the future.
